Why Peoria Trusts Us

Peoria's Own Garage Door Crew

Peoria Garage Door Repair Guys has been fixing, installing, and maintaining garage doors around Peoria since 2015. Danny Kowalski and Ray Petrovic started the company after years of watching a Chicago-based employer treat this market as an afterthought — routes stretched thin, and a homeowner in Peoria Heights or Morton could wait days for a callback that would've been same-day work in the suburbs that company actually cared about. They opened their own shop on West Main Street instead, right in the West Bluff neighborhood, and built the business around actually answering the phone and showing up when they say they will.

That shop is still where the trucks roll out from every morning. Our crew handles everything from a snapped torsion spring to a full garage door installation, working on the older wood-and-steel sectional doors common in West Bluff and Uplands as well as the newer builds going up around Dunlap and the rest of the Tri-County Area. Every technician is insured and background-checked, and every job starts with a free upfront quote before any work begins.

If your door won't close, sounds like it's grinding metal on metal, or just needs a straightforward garage door installation, our garage door repair page covers what a typical service call looks like from the first phone call to the final safety test.

The Peoria Garage Door Difference

Why Peoria Homeowners Choose Us

Insured & Background-Checked

Every technician on our crew is insured and background-checked before they ever step onto your property.

Locally Owned Since 2015

Danny and Ray started this company in Peoria in 2015, and the shop on West Main Street is still where every job starts.

Installs & Repairs, Residential & Commercial

From residential garage doors to commercial bays, our crew handles installs and repairs on both.

Truck-Stocked for Common Repairs

Most springs, cables, rollers, and track hardware are carried on the truck, so a diagnosis often turns into a same-visit repair.

Free Upfront Quotes

You'll know the price before any work starts — no surprise charges added once the truck is in your driveway.

How It Works

How a Service Call Works

  1. Call the Shop

Tell us what the door's doing and we'll get a technician scheduled, often the same day.

  2. On-Site Diagnosis

A technician inspects the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and opener to find the real cause.

  3. Free Upfront Quote

You get a clear price for the repair or installation before any work begins.

  4. Repair, Test, and Walkthrough

We finish the job, run a full safety test, and walk you through what was done.

A Two-Guy Shop That Actually Answers the Phone

Danny Kowalski grew up in Peoria — his dad worked at one of the riverfront manufacturing plants — and spent almost a decade repairing garage doors for a Chicago-based company that treated this market like an afterthought. In 2015 he teamed up with longtime friend Ray Petrovic and opened their own shop on West Main Street, in the heart of West Bluff, because two guys who actually lived here figured they could do better than a route padded with far-flung stops.

Danny still writes the quotes and leads most jobs, Ray runs a good share of the day-to-day service calls, and between them they've kept the same simple promise since day one: answer the phone, show up when we say we will, and fix it right the first time. Read more about how the shop got started, and the two guys still running it, on our about page.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you serve around Peoria?

We work throughout Peoria's neighborhoods — including West Bluff, Uplands, Downtown Peoria, Averyville, and North Valley — plus Tri-County suburbs like Peoria Heights, East Peoria, Dunlap, Bartonville, Morton, and Washington.

How fast can you get to my house?

We prioritize same-day visits whenever the schedule allows, especially for a door that's stuck open or won't close. Call and describe what's going on and we'll give you a realistic window.

Are your technicians insured?

Yes. Every technician on our crew is insured and background-checked before they're sent out on a call.

How much will my repair cost?

It depends on the parts and the extent of the problem, which is why we diagnose everything on-site and give you a free, no-surprise quote before any work begins rather than quoting blind over the phone.

Do you install new garage doors, or just repair them?

Both. We handle full garage door installation and replacement alongside repairs, for residential homes and commercial buildings.

What if my garage door opener is the problem, not the door itself?

We repair and install openers separately from the door itself — chain-drive, belt-drive, and jackshaft systems — so a bad opener doesn't necessarily mean replacing the whole door.
